Volunteering according to skills, or how to save the world without keeping the soul trapped in a box
Say who are computer programmers by day, avid fans of Supernatural and an evening of philanthropy. The chances are that they are a little more worried about the apocalypse that we face (think of the earthquakes in Haiti, Chile and Qinghai provinces, floods in Pakistan, Brazil and Australia, the worst spill oil ever - all last year). Have donated to great causes like the rush of Misha (Misha's Run) to help in humanitarian aid, but does not seem enough.
Free Agency Team (Team Free Will - Dean, Castiel and Sam) did not save the world by donating your money obtained suspiciously Alguema for you too m not going. (Although, of course, donate money regardless of how much aid has been obtained)
Team Free Will did what he does best. Dean and Sam chase the evil, sacrifice and wept tears of emotion. The Castiel flew down and hurt things. You, On the other hand, is not hunters or angels but computer programmers can do something as part of the Hackaton Randon Hacks of Kindness. Randon Hacks of Kindness (Rhokia) brings together computer scientists and experts from humanitarian assistance to address key global challenges and develop software to meet them and above all have an awesome name.
course, statistically speaking, most of you probably are not computer programmers and / or dealing with the apocalypse is not on top of your list of things to do. It's okay! Anyone who has skills can volunteer-based skills to help a cause and we all have skills.
If you are a video editor, you can edit images Random Acts of conquering the world . If you are a planner of special events, you can help us find other ways to conquer the world . If you are a mental health professional, you can donate one hour of work to someone in need. If you are a stripper, you - uh, anyway, get the idea. visit this page, for more ideas and resources. Or better yet, have your own ideas and make a proposal as a Random Act officer.
In case you still are not convinced that the skills-based volunteering is worth, let me explain to you some benefits:
And so it was concluded my volunteer work to write this blog post

Hello Guys!
Finally here I am, your regional representative of the Region 8: Western Europe.
My name is Christina, or Chris (Hakuna) and I'm here to help you and give you support in your desire to perform acts of kindness in your regiãoe towards your next.
As you may have noticed the Region 8 is different from other regions of Random Acts, with regard to language. In our region there are different countries with different natures, tempers and languages, and because we do not want this to be a barrier for those willing to intervene we ask friends to translate all official documents, if necessary, to go vacation languages. For that I also have an ambitious French assistant (Ally) who is waiting for all your questions concerning problems of French department. If any of you have problems to see the posts or problems with the English language in general can contact me or my assistant and we will help you to understand all the ways in as possible. Do not hesitate or be ashamed to ask because if a person has trouble realizing there are certainly many more ambitious and we find translators in all languages of our region if necessary.
But we also realized that some of you have some fear having to speak in English on the forum. So if you think your English is failing you, do not feel as if you were not convicted in part of the acts of your region. Go to our page on LiveJournal: http://community.livejournal.com/minionregion8/ . We're still working on the page but here everyone should be able to communicate in their language and we are trying to put all the translations there.
I look forward to a great year and maybe more, with much diversãoe acts of kindness, love, beauty gratidãoe you!

Little things
never seems to be shortage of donations to be made or causes to help in time and around the time of festivals. Whether, a Salvation Army bell at WalMart or a "Gift Tree" in your church or workplace, there seems always accessible ways to donate to charity. And it seems that at the time of festivals, when the spirit of giving is higher, almost everyone is willing to give at least a little.
But the need does not go away with the end of parties and should not end the desire to help. The means to donate may become less visible after December, but they are always there, if they know where to look. This post will hopefully inspire us to keep alive the spirit of giving throughout the year.
The WalMart, despite all its drawbacks, is actually a very easy site to donate to a very worthy charity - The Children's Miracle Network. I've seen the donation boxes placed randomly in all that I've been in WalMart. Sometimes they are simply large containers blue, but more frequent until they are some kind of game (for which children are immediately attracted.) An aquarium filled with water and wine glasses and can see the money to float and try to land one of those cups. There is also the "wheel" transparent plastic invites us to leave the donation in one of two openings and see him run in circles until I finally fell on top of other currencies (and often inexplicable notes) in the background.
gasoline stations and convenience stores are other great places to give to worthy causes. In the United States - CircleK, Mac'se Clark (all stores Couche-Tard's property, to my knowledge) are filled with March of Dimes. Twice a year, units have to donate $ 1, selling balloons paper in the spring and pumpkins in autumn. Different stores have different events, from garage sales, a chili Cook-off, bake sales and all profits go directly to the March of Dimes.
addition to national charities, the petrol stations are a good way to give back and help people from the community. Can always find a bottle or a can of coffee on the counter beside the cash register and only takes a second to put some change there. Can help people with astronomical medical bills for sudden illness or injury, people who have burned homes or people who just need help to continue.
The list goes on, McDonald's always has boxes for donation to charities of Ronald McDonald, and other regular campaigns. Dollar General has donation boxes at all checkout counters to help literacy. Many grocery stores put boxes to the soup kitchen or to the Caring and Sharing, and can buy extra cans of anything and put up there.
How much give is not important, who does not give, since they feel is a worthy cause. The most important thing is to keep the spirit of giving, so active during the holidays throughout the year.

Hello everyone, It's hard
believe that this is my first post in 2011. Three weeks ago we started the new year, but I thought we could still take some time to look ahead and reflect on what this might mean for years nose to where we could go together.
I look to 2011 with great hope, my dear friends, because I believe that the small jobs that we have made an impact. They are like waves on water, you do not see much at first but then it can be seen how much they walked and how it can prolong a coast far.
Our random acts do the same thing when we do a kindness to someone, it makes waves. This person feels better, more compassionate and pass it to others in ever-widening circle of caring that makes the world a little better for everyone. And if many of NOSO do? We have the power to change our world in a positive way that is extremely powerful.
Let's make 2011 our year. Let's make this the year that promise to ourselves and to others that we make an effort conscious to be gentle. Join us. Participating in a "Random Act." Propose a Official Act.
To make the proposal of an Official Act easier, we are now accepting proposals throughout the year. Can submit your proposals at any time. Even if they think an idea of summer in winter, can submit your proposal. Just mess a note in the description.
changed the form of submission of proposals to include additional information and made it in PDF format. Will be able to fill the form online, print and submit at once. As we learned during the last round of Acts, we need to know more about who is now proposing to make the whole process easier for everyone. If submitting a proposal to them are asked to fill out additional information. If your proposal is chosen for an Official Act, will be invited to sign this form before proceeding with your
ActThis year promises a lot and am eager to discover all the joy and love that will bring with you all. Together we can make 2011 the best year ever. Love and hugs
everyone! Lisa

Firstly, congratulations to everyone for 2011. Let this be the year to achieve your dreams! I firmly believe in making New Year's resolutions. The beginning of a new year is a great time to consider past behaviors, current situation and future plans. I try to make new resolutions throughout the year and remember the less fortunate.
However, the more likely it is that in January 2011 did not go to meet your expectations, dreams and hopes. Who has not started the new year with a handful of New Year's resolutions?! Since the most common resolutions like quitting smoking or start exercising regularly, even more extreme as to make a career change (lower salary - to give meaning to life). Most of those promises is broken in the first days of the year. Fail to keep a resolution is something that transcends borders and ages. A common finding in literally all resolutions, we need some kind of behavioral change. Either that, spend more time with family (ie, better planning) or for smoking (ie, not a cigarette) must waive a default. But what better way to change a behavior is a question that has occupied researchers behavior for many years.
So why not keep things simple this year? Let the wonders of modern technology to help you this time (instead of stealing your precious free time, you should use something more important super hyper)
1.Free Rice
Why not register yourself in our group in Free Rice. Thus, they can donate rice while training your brain, increase the ego and play! I'm not a big fan of the toolbar (toolbar) but can download the Free Rice bar. All my research contribute to Wikipedia! http://freerice.com/content-group/random-acts
2. Be considerate
Being a fabulous person takes time and effort. Help each other and arrange a service to remind you of birthdays. Thus, never miss a birthday, holiday or special day in your life and send e-cards, emails, messages, flowers and gifts on time! I'm sure Google has some great services in your language. And remember: keep the promises, greet people and occasionally buy flowers!
3. Organize your social networking social networks
take too long to keep. Why not turn all your accounts?! For example: I called my Twitter account with Facebook and LinkedIn. With a program like Tweetdeck can manage all your accounts connected only in one place.
4. Be kind and believe
The Internet is a vast concourse of all types of people. What makes the boat float other people can sink your boat in seconds. In real life, people also can give you the wrong way, while others are desperate for a Random Act of Kindness. Do not hate, defame, to flourish, are rude, pursue, become a troll or spam! Remember Karma, freedom of expression and trust your nature and other good people!
5. Acting
Why not get involved and help people? I've always had great respect for firefighters, nurses, janitors and cops. I'm not suggesting an immediate change of career, but I ask you look around you. Look around you, look at the problems of others and lend a hand because his hand?!
can even arrange a Random Act
Happy 2011 and stay impressive

I wish all my loved ones a great Valentine's Day - whether in a relationship or not get) * chu * Someone something nice?

learning is going well, only the vocabulary lesson 6 and do it today is not just hang them all. Maybe it's because I've been done before the practice sentences of Lesson 5 and taken together the whole grammar. Tomorrow is another day:) I but must admit that my Middle Egyptian hieroglyphs and generally do better than a lot of fun. Today I move from chaos to the master at least one conclusion: It was pretty good that it came as it came. I think I am where I am now much happier than I otherwise would be.
Now I'm going to just a couple of nice images on your loading AkuRoku iPad. I've seen in recent days, several times in the evening like fanarts on aarinfantasy to different series and so ^ ^ By the way was now my new external hard drive. I do have quite a but is quite small, although in practice for the ride. But I do not feel like constantly making new DVDs of series and burn ....
Salut les enfants
Salut tout le monde!
It's going to be fast this time. We have great news and pictures for you to come travel to Haiti's friend Misha, Philip. Philip and his band did a wonderful job there and used the money you have collected very efficiently. You can find here (English page).
We have other information about you to Haiti ahead in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on my blog. It will be very exciting!
Volunteering according to your abilities, or how to save the world without having your soul trapped in the box by Tracy
Say you're the computer programmer days, a fervent fan of Supernatural night, and one of them philanthropic. Perhaps you're more than a little disturbed by the Apocalypse we face (think earthquakes in Haiti, Chile and Qinghai, floods in Pakistan, Brazil and Australia, the worst oil spill ever seen, all in one year). You have already given to worthy causes such as stroke Misha to help rescue these disasters, but it does not seem enough. Team Free Will * has not saved the world by donating their money to anyone, and you will not do either. (Although, to give money really helps, no matter how you got it).
The Team Free Will did what he does best. Dean and Sam drove the evil, sacrificing himself, and crying tears of emotion. Castiel has remained in hit in the corner. You, on the other hand, neither hunter nor angel, but a computer programmer, can do something like participating in a Hack of Kindness hackaton. Random Hacks of Kindness (RhoK) brings together computer engineers and experts in humanitarian assistance to identify the critical international challenges, develop programs that can respond and mostly give them great names.
course, statistically speaking, most of you are probably not programmer and / or face the Apocalypse is not at the top of your priorities. It's okay! Anyone with skills can volunteer based on these capabilities to help a cause and everyone has abilities. If you are a publisher video, you can edit a shot Random Acts of conquering the world. If you are in the event, you can help us find other ways to conquer the world. If you are a mental health professional, you can give one hour of your services to anyone in need. If you're a stripper ... um, whatever, you get the idea. Visit this page (English) for more ideas. Or better yet, find your own idea and propose it as Official Act.
If you are not yet convinced that volunteering worthwhile, let me show you what it can do for you:
- Giving you the chance to develop your skills in creative ways that will always on your CV
- You provide an excellent opportunity to try new things without long term commitment, no money to spend on education / training or career change
- Win new business and personal contacts
- You provide many opportunities to feel warm and cozy feeling of doing something good in someone's life (not to be confused with that has been following the taking of illegal substances)
your counterpart is a "nice guy". He tells you how he was social worker, was also long-term unemployed and told them at some point he did not know what will happen, he would remain at home longer, and I fear soon to hit his wife. He was allowed to study (apparently allowing it to him?). And that'll show you wanted to go so far as only. Even if he had The cleverly, where the Professor had not first understood.
What he requires as retraining opportunities, there is not seen since the 90s, and everyone knows that - from your appropriate skepticism blocks constructed. - The quote I will merely one of the less disgusting comments: "Many career ideas were immediately dismissed by him, by pointing out that he sure did not come into question Due to his personal limitations. "- Something like I have never said that! You can defend yourself but not even the other hand, because you deny the report will (you can safely force per lawyer - but then the bureaucracy is going to you, and everyone in Germany knows what is going on with the consortium on itself). You before you read it, but leave off these things, and the text is shorter. "If I do not get the report, please tell me what is on the negative side of me in it." - Mediator: "No, there is only positive."
Level 2 coaching job will be. The lady has an obvious psychological problem: they can fall times equal to any other people were "sick". Retrieved from "coaching" can be no question. They, too, was unemployed, canceled more than 40, it has forced and must tell everyone. The fear lies apparently still too low, they can incorporate it into other things, as they must occur be hard, but still threatens their existence, anyway.
